Just wondering: How can students become ‘good’ text-producers in EFL?

A reflective workshop on how to help students become good text-producers based on a Systemic-Functional approach to genre teaching.
Research into various features of genres offer pedagogically useful information that involves exposing students to target relevant texts and may help to give them an understanding of how the contexts and purposes of texts are related to their structure and lexicogrammar.
The aim of the workshop is to share state-of-the-art techniques, methods and teaching strategies to assist students in becoming better (or good) text producers in the target language.

Developing reading and writing skills: Shunting to and fro

This workshop will present some activities aimed at enhancing the development of students’ reading and writing skills based on an interactional perspective between the two types of skills. Although the focus of the workshop will be placed mostly on practical considerations, some references will be made to the beliefs underpinning the activities.

This workshop will raise teachers’ awareness of the social skills and competencies that teenagers need in order to take part in the emerging 21st century participatory culture. Activities will suggest how EFL teachers can promote skilful reading and writing to ensure that learners develop the competencies required to be successful in the new millennium.

    I’d like to know how I can register for next Saturday’s workshop, since I’m from La Pampa and I won’t be there in Cordoba till Friday. Shall I go personally to SBS on Friday or do I need to fill in a form beforehand? Please, let me know!
