FOOTBALL legend Diego Maradona is threatening to commit suicide,
it was revealed yesterday.
Maradona, 46, told his parents he wanted to kill himself when they
visited him in hospital.
The former Argentina ace is undergoing treatment for acute toxic
hepatitis after a two-day bender in which he GUZZLED ten bottles
of champagne, CHAIN-SMOKED cigars and GORGED himself on food.
He is being watched by three guards at a clinic in the Argentine
capital Buenos Aires after trying to escape through a window.
Journalist Ernesto Cherquis Bialo — who helped write Maradona’s
autobiography — revealed the suicide threat on Argentine
TV.
The clinic said in a statement: “Diego Maradona is doing
well. His condition has improved in recent days.”
